Dear Dr Einhorn:
Hope this email finds you well.
I just want to let you know that so far my markers have been fine. I
finished the oral chemo in December, and basically I check BHCG every month.
I was particularly afraid today because it is one year from my treatment in
Indianapolis. It was a huge finish line from me since the beginning. The day
I would pass one year without cancer. I can barely believe.
I know I can't be considered cured yet, and this is not mathematically
controlled, but how much my chances increased now after one year?
Thanks!
Regards, Carlos

If you were destined to relapse, the great majority occur the first year. Currently the probability of the cancer EVER coming back is 5% or less. Congratulations for passing this important milestone!

Thanks Doctor! This is very good news! I'm really thankfull for your job in developing and perfecting the treatment which is the only chance of survival we have today.
Hope to be able to visit you in Indianapolis some day. Thanks a lot!
